What should I do if my dog is trying to vomit but only brings up foam or clear mucous?
This is a sign of possible Bloat. You should have the dog seen immediately by a veterinarian as this can be life threatening.

What if my cat is straining to urinate in the litter box or elsewhere in the house?
This is a potentially life threatening problem for a MALE cat. Straining may be simply a sign of a bladder infection, or as serious as a complete urinary blockage. Male cats with this behavior should be taken to a veterinarian immediately.

Should I try to give water to my pet if it is vomiting to prevent dehydration?
No. Vomiting animals should not be given food or water for a 6 to 8 hour period. If the vomiting persist during that time, or starts again when they eat or drink- then they should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

How do I know if my pregnant pet is having trouble during delivery of her ‘babies'?
Signs of a difficult delivery are pushing or straining for more than 15 minutes with no sign of a ‘baby’, or if the water sac appears and disappears several times and no ‘baby’ is seen. Bloody discharge from the vaginal area is also a sign of possible trouble.

What should I do if my pet has a seizure?
Call your vet or the emergency service right away. First time seizures may have an underlying cause. You should have your pet examined. More than one seizure should prompt an immediate visit to the vet or emergency service.

How many times should I let my animal vomit before I should be concerned?
Vomiting more than one time in a day, or vomiting two days in a row with no interest in food could be a signoff intestinal blockage or other serious problems.

Yes, any abnormality in the ability to stand or walk normally could be a sign of things like: slipped disc, Lyme Disease, injury, or weakness from illness. See the vet as soon as possible that day.
